Share a link with a colleague who has access to the folder:

  1. Right-click on the file you would like to share from Google Drive.

  2. Click “Get sharable link”


  1. You will see a small black box will appear in the bottom left corner of your screen letting you know that “Link copied to the clipboard”

  2. You can now Paste the link in an email/hangout/hyperlink. 



Share a link with a colleague who does not have  access to the folder:

  1. Right-click on the file you would like to share from Google Drive.

  2. Click Share Share OR from the document click Share

NOTE: You will have other options such as creating a link for someone outside the company to 

have edit/comment/or view the file by clicking on



Share with someone outside of the company (collaborate or not):

  1. When composing an email in Gmail, click on the Drive icon.

  2. This will bring up a box allowing you navigate to the file you would like to attach. Either by searching for the file name, navigating through Shared Drive, or finding the file in your recent.

  3. In the bottom right-hand corner of the box, it will give you the option to include the file as an attachment (you do not want to collaborate) or as Google link (you do want to collaborate)
