Part 1 Change the MAILTO and WEBCAL protocol to Google Chrome.


  1. Click Start > Default Programs
  2. Click Associate a file type or protocol with a program
  3. Scroll almost to the very bottom and click MAILTO then Change Program 
  4. Select Google Chrome then OK
  5. Do the same for WEBCAL


Part 2 Change the Google Chrome Handlers.

  1. Open Chrome and navigate to Settings. 
  2. Under Privacy and security click Content settings
  3. Select Handlers and switch on the Ask protocol.
    NOTE : If you open protocol handlers and you see anything located under Blocked click the X beside the protocol
  4. Open Gmail in Chrome and click the Protocol Handler icon which looks like two diamonds.
  5. Allow Gmail to open all email links.
  6. Open Calendar in Chrome and click the Protocol Handler icon which looks like two diamonds.
  7. Allow Calendar to open all web calendar links
