If you are not able to connect to the internet, there are a few steps you can try that may restore connectivity quickly:

  1. Restart your computer. 
  2. If you work from a location with a nearby network hardware device (modem or network switch), try unplugging its power, waiting 5 seconds, and then replugging it.  It will take about a minute for the modem to come back online, at which time you can try connecting from your computer again.
